Construction of the second bridge over Vistula in Sandomierz begins

Sandomierz Business News from March 4, 2009. Construction works of the biggest communication investment of the region has begun in Sandomierz. It's the construction of the second motorcar bridge over Vistula. The new bridge will be built in this spot, just several meters away from the old one. It will be a part of National Road No. 77 from Lipnik to Przemyśl. It will cost over 80 Million złotys. It will be over 450 meters long and 14 meters wide and will consist of two lanes, sidewalk and a bicycle lane. The bridge will be capable of carrying vehicles up to 50 tonnes. Currently the cutting down the trees and the slip roads construction have already begun. Main works will begin within a month. The bridge and corresponding slip roads will be finished and commissioned in Autumn next year.
